Here, we as witnesses are handed a comfortable aesthetic vantage point where we are not alone, but are seated next to our brothers and sisters of contemporary life. A nice bench, in a park, perhaps? Even, perhaps, in the garden of Eden? A first glance can render the impression; accessible, dynamic, etheric.
But behind the facade, hides a play of immense, dire, proportion. The depicted characters appear harmonic, maybe too harmonic? Are they putting on a strained show for the privatized body of our shared spaces, are they suffering with frail dignity in the anthropocene, our age which is devoured by human greed?
